Neal Asher Video Clip

I think this was the last 'fan question' video clip I did back in 2013. Well, a lot has changed since then, including me, so maybe it's time for me to have another crack at one of these clips? Anyway, to that end stick your questions in the comments section below. When I've got enough I'll do a video clip ... maybe.

With quite a few SF/Fantasy writers getting their work on TV and Films lately if the possibilty came your way to choose one of your works to be produced which do you think you'd like to see on the big or little screen?

What comes first when you're writing the general thrust of a story or the characters involved in that story ?

Is there a possibility we'll see Mr. Crane kayak-rowing across Spatterjay?

How did your collaboration with Jon Sullivan come about - was it arranged by publishers or did you have a say? I've just had a 5 foot long Jupiter War print plus a few others and can't imagine another's art on your books. I know the new book also has a Sullivan cover - is there ever a thought to use someone else, or is it a given that Jon will do the cover art.

I am curious about whether the release of Jeff VanderMeer's Southern Reach trilogy books months apart in 2014 has caused authors and publishers to consider closer spacing of the releases of related works, including you and your publisher regarding your Transformation trilogy.

Who is your favourite sci-fi writer? And do you like 50's /60's writers eg. Andre Norton? From Luci Ann

What is your favourite sci-fi movie? Mine is Aliens.

Who has the final say on the choice of your books amazing cover art? Does John read your books before doing the designs?

What kind of music do you like to listen to?

Hey Neal,

Were you planning to do something with the Hooder that fell in the ocean in The Voyage of the Sable Keech? I imagined there was going to be some kind of super hardcore viral enhanced Hooder on the loose at some point.

Also, I got the feeling that Serene Galahad was based partly on Hillary Clinton, partly on Claire Perry. Did you base the character on any real life politicians?

One more question from me. Will we ever see your fantasy books? I'd love to read them.

Regards,

X P Wifflebottom

Hypothetically, if the opportunity came along would you choose to download yourself into "techno" cloud and live forever (or at least until this winters power blackouts)?

Hello

Do you write with music on, to get in a mood or to inspire?

Why do you call it an asteroid when it’s outside the hemisphere, yet call it haemorrhoid when it’s in your ass?

Please don't shout at me because I've asked something similar before.... :-/

Have you considered writing about the Iversus Skaidon story as a short or novella? I'm sure there's an epic bit of Neal Asher storytelling to be woven around such a historical character for the Polity.

(AKA Adam Fairchild)
Do you ever use dreams as inspiration for some of the creatures & such ? Will Sable Keech pop up again ? What is the weirdest thing you've ever eaten ?John Sullivan should make a nice painting of a Maker , not a question - just putting it out there :).

Hey Neal!

Just finished reading "The Other Gun". Sorry it took so long, but for some reason it was in the middle of the anthology instead of being the first one, should have a word with the editor about that.

Anyway, my question is regarding all the references in the story about Penny Royal, which have left me with a feeling of a giant gaping hole in the Asherverse. Did I miss a short story somewhere about Penny Royal and the reasons it left the asteroid, or do I have to wait for the trilogy to find out what happened?

firstly apologies if this has been asked before.

would you even consider publishing 'how it is by Gordon'. they have to be some of my favorite parts of the books.

Re-reading 'Voyage of The Sable Keech' recently, what happened to Aesop and Bones, did they make it back to land?

did you base the lovely Serene Galahad on any of our modern Euro parasites, the Committe future is chilling and quite possible

When are you ever going to get better at Scrabble?! ;-)

Have you considered writing books for the Young Adult market, set in the Polity Universe or otherwise?

This image of the future in the owner series is eerily close to where the world seems to be going as far as I can see, is there any way to prevent it or are we all royally screwed?

Sorry guys. I'm just not up to doing this yet.
