Interview with Jerry Pournelle.

Good interview with Jerry Pournelle here on Pyjamas TV.

Glenn Reynolds sits down with science-fiction master Jerry Pournelle to discuss the Japanese reactor meltdowns, atomic energy, the climate, and the future of artificial intelligence. How prepared is the United States for disaster? Pournelle wonders whether FEMA and the decline of civil defense has put America at even greater risk in the event of disaster.

It's great to see Jerry Pournelle still going strong. Lucifer's Hammer is one of my favourite Niven/Pournelle novels, only surpassed by The Legacy of Heorot (with Steven Barnes) and The Mote in God's Eye.

Yeah, but he was also involved with Apollo and deputy mayor somewhere, Vaude. I would say his history bespeaks a clever bugger with a lot going on between his ears.

Yeah, my favourite from hism has to be The Mote in God's Eye, Alex, but then it has more of the biological twist that I like.
