Apparently 'h' not often used, but unlike some other latin based languages is pronounced when used. "Ch" and "sh" sound in Romanian are made using accented C and S letters.
Thats what I've understood from my Romanian speaking son - apologies if he/me butchered the explanation in some way...8)
