Afront wanted Harry Harrison or John Brunner. Here's the latter to be going on with:

Not much writing today Neal!!

Keep em coming; all my jobs are outside under 20cm of snow, so internet trawling it is.

Your bookcase thread is making me want to actually go through the boxes in the loft. My last guestimate was about 4500 books.

Plenty there that I'd like to read :)

Out of curiosity, as an author what do you do with your own books? I'm presumming you'd have them out, perhaps on their own special shelf ;)

Swainson, rereading and editing what I've already done (about 80,000 words of a new book).

Yeah, I have one of each on a shelf behind me, then, since I get 10 free hardcovers and 20 free paperbacks from Macmillan, plus free copies from all the countries I'm published in, I've got two bookcases full and numerous boxes full up in the loft.

Pictures later...

Crap, I now have to go through all of my book chaos to find "Clay's Ark". I haven't seen it for ages. I can't believe I'd forgotten that gem.

What about 'Mind of my Mind'? Brilliant.

what are all the black fellers standing next to Dickson?

we dont have that sort of thing over here in bibleland.

very surprised to see little Aldiss since he's got piles out over there, no Bester, just a little Dick and so much Blish. i blush in surprise.

I loved all of the "Patternist" books, although I never read "Survivors" as she regretted writing it. I thought it would spoil the series for me.

I've never managed to read any of her other books, I own some of them but just haven't managed to get into them.

p.s. rather than go through all of my books for "Clays Ark" I found a VG 1st edn. Hardback on Alibris for £5.42 and ordered that instead. Well it is my birthday this week.

Vaude, you have to remember that these are the books I actually bought (usually from a 2nd hand shop). I read a lot more from the library. Actually I got The Sheep Look Up recently, and gave up on it. The black fellas next to Dickson are Stephen Donaldson.

Bascule, that's what happens when your books are out of sight.
