J. R. R. TOLKIEN:

unrelated: will you be doing more Q&A videos this winter?
Funny you should mention that. I was thinking of doing just that. I'll put up a post about it anon.
oh a fan of e.c. tubb, i knew there was something i liked about you
Ah I see you don't have The Silmarillion, Is there a reason for that?
I have tried and failed several times to make a go of that book but I just can't get my head around it.
Many years ago, Todd. I'm not sure how I would get on with them now.
Huan, I have read the Silmarillion and did once have a copy, but I don't know where it is now.
Ah, "Year of the Quiet Sun" I must re-read that soon. Excellent book.
You probably get asked this a lot, but if you do do a Q&A please let us know if we will ever see Agent Cormac again.
I've got two first editions of the Silmarillion, you can have one if you like.
I was going to ask the same about the Silmarillion. I've read it three times in three years. It is truly outstanding, I read the Unfinished tales as well.
I have wondered since (and maybe I should read his biography) whether he wrote about the glory of battle, of banners and trumpets and the proud marches of men and horse, to rationalise his experiences of WW1 and reality of seeing trench warfare.
